Concept of Global Village
GLOBAL VILLAGE: Due to better and faster development of communication, the world is shrinking. Satellite has changed the entire outlook of mankind. It has brought men much nearer. Today no country is an isolated island, because what happens in any one country is significant to even most remote places on the earth due to modern communication. Earth is shrinking and world has become a global village, because people of earth are coming closer, to one another in time and space.
GLOBAL VILLAGE: In spite of cultural, religious and economic differences among various countries, everybody is known to other like a village. Marshall McLuhan was the first person to popularize the concept of global village and to consider its social effects. Events in one part on the world could be experienced from other parts in real time, which is what villager's experience was like when they lived in a small village. The Explosion of scientific knowledge and technological application that has taken place has made the world a global village.
